If it’s a gentle cruise around the harbour of Durban that interests you, a chance encounter with dolphins, whales or a flying fish, or the possibility of seeing Umhlanga and Durban from a completely different view point, we can make it happen. Harbour cruises allow for a gentle launch from Point Yacht Club in the harbour. From here you can watch as containers are loaded and unloaded, or the arrival and departure of the cruise liners that make port here in Durban. The best time for a harbour cruise is around sunset. Year round we have dolphins swimming along our coastline. Watch as the family units swim by, or the more energetic of the pod join us to ride the bow of the boat. During winter months, Humpback whales migrate past, and to view these magnificent mammals from up close is a wonder not to be missed. Sea birds often fly past the boat, and on the surface we are occasionally rewarded with sightings of flying fish, a breaching ray, or even a turtle resting and taking a breath at the surface, before ducking back down to the reef for safety. Bring along a hat, sunglasses, sun cream, and refreshments (please, no glass on the boat). Don’t forget your cameras, and even though there is a dry hatch to put valuables inside, it is advised to put cameras in a plastic bag to stay dry. During the cooler months, a jacket is recommended.
