Travel Time: 15 - 20 mins
Level: Open Water
Depth: 10 - 18m
As the name suggests, a long canyon runs along a ridge that starts at 10m down to about 16m. Large boulders that have broken away from the ridge lay along the sand. The canyon walls are covered in soft corals, sponges and hydroids and are home to Goldies, dominoes, and a myriad of reef fish. Lobsters, shrimps and crabs hide in the many cracks and crannies. Stingrays and the occasional guitar shark rest along the bottom of the canyon or between the large boulders. Nudibranchs, leaf fish and many other special creatures have been spotted here. Unquestionably our regular diver’s favourite spot!

Travel Time: 10 -15 mins
Level: Advanced
Depth: 18 - 24m
Patches of reef that form a honeycomb pattern covered in a variety of oddly shaped sponges gives this strange little reef its name. Plenty of small critters can be found, and the race to find a sharks tooth in the small sandy patches can keep divers well entertained. Keep one eye out above, as one never knows what might cruise overhead!

Travel Time: 5 mins
Level: Open Water - Beginner Courses
Depth: 5 - 12m
A shallow sandy area with patches of reef makes this a perfect spot for courses. Students can sit comfortably in the sand and do skills without fear of damaging the reef. Lionfish, scorpionfish, lobsters, and morays make for an interesting beginners experience. Often flatheads and rays are spotted hidden in the sand. Due to the shallow depth, this dive can only be done on calm days with little swell.

Travel Time: 5 mins
Level: Advanced
Depth: 16 - 26m
An old Mozambique fishing trawler that was sunk in 1990 by the Oceanographic Research Institute (ORI) to form an artificial reef. Large shoals of baitfish swim around the wreck and attract pelagic fish, so keep an eye out in the blue water. Crayfish, shrimps and crabs hide in all the crevices, as do moray eels. Leaf fish and the more elusive and rare pineapple fish have also been spotted. A resident Brindle Bass can also be seen. Generally visibility on this dive is poor, but with the amount of fish on the wreck, it’s a stunning dive.

Travel Time: Won’t be gone all day
Level: Probably Advanced with some experience is best
Depth: Have no idea - let’s find out together!
It’s always fun to be part of the group that has discovered a new reef. Although going on a recce dive is not always exciting as it may take longer to find the drop point, maybe we drop on sand, and maybe the reef is rubbish - just sand, no coral, or a complete miss in all aspects. Yet sometimes we hit the jackpot! We are always adventuring out to find new dive sites, explore a part of a known reef which we never venture to or just looking to dive someplace new! Let your adventurous soul out, and join us. Maybe you have a few ideas, or have heard of some rumours of a great unknown or forgotten dive site. Who knows - if it’s great (or not) we may name it after you!
